Default temp gauge

I have read in a few previous posts about different sensors for temperature. One for the ECM, one for the fan, and one for the dash readout.
My dash readout on my 1988 coupe (stock L98) just quit working.
It will only read Low. Anyone know where I might look for that sensor to see if it is defective or has come un hooked?
Any other ideas why I may be getting the Low reading?

Thanks!

The sensor that goes to the dash reading should be in the passenger side head. At least that is where it is on my 88. Hope that helps ya out. :yesnod:

Thanks, I'll check it out today. I will also bring my shop manual to work and maybe kill a little time poking around in it.

Not sure about your '88, but on my '91 the sensor in the pass. head is for the auxillary fan.

Your coolant temp sender is located on the passenger side just behind the oil dipstick between spark plugs 6 and 8. The part number is: 2503-6135, about $20 from Jeff Kopp.
