I have a new transmission pan that holds 2 extra quarts.
It's deeper than the stock pan.
The stock filter won't rest against the bottom of this pan like it did the stock pan.
This MAY cause the filter neck to crack... the pump could then suck air.. not good.
Is there a special 'long neck' filter to use with these deeper pans?
Is there something I'm missing?
Anybody running a deeper tranny pan that knows?
2 years ago, I purchased a Derale deep sump pan for my 700r....from Jegs...no problems after all this time.....has a sump 2qts....better than stock, and pipes welded under the pan for increased cooling...like I stated....been working good for the last couple of years....its in thier catalog....
And it has worked fine...

I put a pan from a Silverado pickup on my C4 some time ago. It is deeper than the stock pan and came with a new filter/pickup with a longer neck. I assume this is the proper arrangement since GM packaged it that way.
