clarification.....Fuel injector size for 93 LT1 engine
I have mixed reports about fuel injector size. I've heard that 19 lbs and 22 lbs which is it?
My EPROM stock shows 23.8 lbs for the injector fuel rate. What should it be and why would the STOCK prom code show higher rates for the size difference? Need to know ASAP

L98s are #22, LT1 is #24, LT4 is #28.
Not absolutely sure on the LT1

Are you absolutely sure? I ask this only because when I was inquiring about a supercharger they said I had to upgrade my LT1 from 19's to 24's that came with their kit. This is why i'm asking this particular question so I can burn my prom properly. TIA

Most sources have said that the '92 and '93 LT1 motors have 22 lb injectors and '94 to '96 LT1s have 24 lb injectors.
However, Ed Wright (a recognized expert on programming chips) told me personally that the programming in my chip would not change at all if I put '94 LT1 injectors in my '92 LT1 -- he said they are the same.
But, if you go to this site (http://www.partsamerica.com/default.asp?BypassRedirect=True) and set up your vehicles as a '92 and a '94 and look at the part numbers for the injectors for each, you will see different part numbers -- if they are the same, why different part numbers?
Being curious, I actually did an injector leak-down test in my engine with my stock '92 injector and an injector out of a '94, I could not tell the difference in the fuel pressure after each injector was accurately pulsed with the same time, and their static pressures were the same before the pulse -- since the '94 injector is supposed to have about a 10% higher lb-per-hour rating, I expected to see a lower fuel pressure after the single pulse.
Go figure.

I went through this before , but years ago. they are rated as #22 lb but they flow the same as the #24 lbs ones on 94-6's (LT1s). I think they were flowed at different fuel pressures. :cheers:

So then what is the factory settings for the eprom if both techinically flow the same. Factory prom show #/hr as 23.8 not 24 or 22. Its confusing

I don't know if it is anything to consider; but, the '92 to '93 with the supposedly 22 lb-per-hour injectors is a batch-fire engine and the '94 to '96 is a sequential-fire engine. From what I have read, if my memory serves me correctly, a batch-fire engine fires the injector once for each revolution of the engine (the total time is the pulse duration) for each combustion event (a four cycle engine requires two revolutions for each combustion event) where the sequential-fire fires the injector once for each combustion event (this single injection event may span two revolutions of the crankshaft). Since the batch-fire is transitioning (closed-to-open and open-to-closed) twice, compared to the sequential-fire, maybe this accounts for a decrease in lb-per-hour capability!!!
I don't know if this is the answer, but it sounds logical.
Any ideas?????

The 23.8 constant could be there since the motors were built and that with the 22# they still were getting too much fuel so tweated the constant which would change fuel delivery across the board. In Fact I am running 30# on my 89 and have the constant set to 33.. I would not worry too much about the difference

Looks like I'll have to look at the BLM and the intergrator to see if there is a parametric shift in under acceleration conditions. If she runs to rich I'll bring it back to 23.8 and readjust the afpr to target blm of 125. This should be fun......its 15 degrees out..... :cry
