Since I put the 383 in the Sled, I also got in on the C5 front brake adapter group purchase last year...the car will be an occasional track car and I'm wondering what'll happen to the balance of the car if I only use front C5 brakes and not C5 rears...
Re: C5 Brake users, I have a question (RocketSled)
I bought a set of C5 calipers also based on all the rave reviews, now I find out I can't use the rear calipers if I want to retain my emergency brake. :mad Now I have read a post here that says that the C5 upgrade may also cause issues with the ASR. Can anyone confirm this?

I've got an auto, so I wouldn't _need_ the parking brake, Electro-Dynamics hasn't SOLD a lot of rear kits, so they're proportionally higher cost due to the numbers involved, and you've gotta send them parts to be machined to work correctly.
AFA the ASR is concerned, I can't possibly see how that'd be the case. All the ASR does is watch the ABS sensors and activate the ABS system if necessary. If you're racing, you'll have the ASR off, right?
Re: C5 Brake users, I have a question (RocketSled)
I agree with your viewpoint on not seeing how it would affect the ABS, but I drive my car a hell of a lot more on the street than I do at the track and don't want to chance screwing up my ABS.
I have the C5 fronts only. Very good braking, and a big improvement
over the stock C4 big brake kit. ABS is not affected. I am looking into
putting my old fronts on the rear, just because they are laying around. :yesnod:

My car is pretty much "track only" and the balance of my braking
is fine. Most of the braking is done using the fronts brakes anyway.

Aside from the little burp you get when the car first starts moving to test the system, ABS spends it time kinda hanging out. It's only when it see something funky (one or more tires with a huge speed differential) that it comes into play. I don't think you've got anything to worry about. OFten knowing HOW this stuff works lets you predict it's behavior.
Case it point: My car when it had stock lines and pads wouldn't activate the ABS above 35mph. The brakes weren't strong enough to lock up the tires and overcome their tendency to rotate.
Swap for Performance Friction Z pads and Stainless steel lines and I can get the ABS to burp above 60 mph. It still works perfectly.
The point? I doubt changing the braking chracteristics anouther 20% (C4 to C5 brakes) is going to upset it's operation.
