In Sept of 2002 I paid a speed shop to install Comp 1.6 Roller Rockers, at the total cost of $415.00  Well two days ago I started to take my motor apart for a complete rebuild. To my suprise when I looked at my Rockers they were stampped 1.52. Think I was ripped off?? :mad
They obviously put the wrong ratio rockers in, but was the $415 also including the price of the RR as well as the labor? If not you really got it, the going rate for a shop to install 1.6 RR is $200 -$250 here in S. Wisconsin and Chicago. Sorry to hear about it either way, you should return those RR and demand the 1.6s you paid for! Good luck, hate to see people take advantage of us just because we have nice cars.
It's sounds Like a case of intentional fraud to me.
I wouldn't even talk to the shop,
I'd get a lawyer to crawl up their tailpipe
and watch 'em sweat. Sure, it might cost a little,
but the instant satisfaction of seeing them squirm might be
worth the cost of admission.
No, I'm not a lawyer, I just play one on TV.
The price was what I was told were to be Comp Cams 1.6 Rollers and Labor. :cry
If they would have put the correct RRs in, the $ was in the ballpark of what most shops around here would have charged. The Comp Cams RR normally go for upwards of $200, then the labor for another $200-$250. However, as you know you did not recieve what you paid for! Care to share the name of the shop with us?
