FX3 issue
I had a service ride control light problem late last summer. I did nothing but research it and find out what the error code was. While it was gaaged for the winter, I determined the nut on top of my right shock was extremely loose. I tightened it down by hand (no torque wrench at the time) and the "service ride control light" went out as it should. I got a torque wrench and tightened it down to spec, and the actuator wouldn't sit down far enough to get the clip on it. Could it be that over time, the upper cushion compresses, and the nut goes down so far that the shock rod/gear sticks up too high. I backed the nut out (under torque spec) and the actuator goes down sufficiently and the message goes awayas it should. Anyone seen or heard of this type situation?

Not sure if it has to do with the compression of the rubber. But if you do over tighten it, it will make the rod/gear sit to high up and it won't hit the actuator properly. If need be, just get some bushings. SOunds like you may need them anyways.
