Default Help with 383?

I am going to stroke my motor to a 383 and am thinking of putting the SCAT nodular crank, SCAT forged I beam connecting rods and JE pistons along with 190 of 195 AFR heads and I am not sure what cam.

Will this crank support 500hp and mabey a small 75 shot of nitrous or should I go forged?

I was thinking ZZX cam but I want something with some lope.

I am going to try to pass emissions with this. :yesnod:

You might be pushing it with cast stuff...Though I know a lot of people who are doing what you are contemplating; but they are living on borrowed time in my opinion. If you'll email me off the board I've got some forged stuff for 383's for sale. My email is: badvette@prodigy.net

I ran the same setup but with the "lower" quality SRP pistons and without N20. I would think you would be ok with that. I don't see you getting 500hp with the 383 by itself .. so i'd say up to 500hp with the N20 and you'll be fine. If you go over 100shot, I'd definitely do forged.

Good luck still though, haha. If your 383 puts out 500hp without N20 (which 99% chance it won't), then you'll have mega problems getting that to pass emissions. Might as well take it where you "know" someone. I didn't have to have my 383 test in texas... cuz i destroyed it before i had to... but there's no way that thing would have passed (course i didn't have cats or mufflers :D).
