Stray knock retards
Hi.
I have I suspect some false knock retards on my 1985 z-51 4+3. I have done some mods. It is 355cid with pistons that gives about 9,5:1 in CR. I have a more egressive cam and a TPIS level 4 chip. The fuel pressure I can adjust and it is about 45 psi.
On the torque curve it flatens out at about 1600rpm and it goes to about 2400 by then to increase normally. I have registered knockbut not when having it on the dyno. I mean I have heard that on the 85 the knock retard controle (ECS?) can have some false knock.
Does anybody know about this and if so what kind of ECS can I use does anybody have a partnumber? I have 6 degree basic ignition timing as described in the manual and also from TPIS.
