Default Service ASR light on

I just got finished putting the car back together from the intake gasket repair and now I have a SERVICE ASR light on and the ASR OFF light is on also along with the service engine soon light. Is there anything that would cause this other than the obvious, something wrong with the ASR. The only part that I even touched that had to do with the ASR was the throttle cable and all I did was disconnect it and reconnect it from the throttle body. Any suggestions? Could killing the battery cause this to happen? It did get pretty low one time but I recharged it and haven't really started since then, until now.

Default Re: Service ASR light on (Hamert)

O.K. I think I have this diagnosed in my head. The throttle body was off while doing the intake. The TPS is in the throttle body. I think when I was cleaning the TB with carb/tb cleaner I may have damaged the TPS. The car idles at about 1000-1500 rpm's when the service ASR light is on. I went out to the car and started it and got no Service ASR light and the car idled normally. Then I shut the car off and restarted it and the Service ASR light came back on and the car was idling high again. It is still this way. I think since the ASR is connected to the TPS through the PCM, that is causing my problem. I think I just need a new TPS, but I will know for sure when my neighbor brings the Tech II home from work on Monday. But, does this sound like I am on the right track thinking it's the TPS?
