If they have just been installed make sure all are loose. Then pick a cylinder and turn the crank till the intake valve is closing and set the exhaust lash; turn the crank till the exhaust valve is just opening and set the intake lash.
To set the lash twirl the pushrod with thumb and finger while tightening the rocker nut. When you just feel some resistance that is zero lash; tighten 1/2-5/8 turn beyond that point.
