Default Help with new intake

Just finished installing the TPIS Big Mouth Intake with siamesed runners. Also put an adjustable fuel regulator and bored the TB to 52mm. The car will not fire up now. I injected fuel into the manifold and it will run until the fuel is gone. Hooked up a fuel pressure guage and the needle does not move. Tried several times with injecting fuel into the system thinking the fuel rail is empty but no luck. Any ideas what may be wrong. Any suggestions on how to start the engine and keep it running long enough to get fuel flowing into the fuel rail. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Had my son listen for the fuel pump when I turned the key to on. It was clicking away. Can't understand why the fuel won't move into the fuel rail. Is there such as thing as a vapor lock on a TPI. With the adjustable fule regulator, which way do you turn the adjuster to increase fuel pressure. In or out.

You need to hook up the gauge again and adjust it while it's hooked up. Didn't you get any instuctions with it. Does it have a vacuum line on it also?

It does have a vacum line. Instructions do not cover the adjustment proceedure or which way to turn. I am about to put the stock regulator back on and see what happens. Do you think the problem is with the fuel regulator? Or at least a good psossibility. I am pretty certain it is a fuel problem but can't think of anything I could have messed with during the change over of the intake that would cause this, except for the regulator.

Perhaps you could disconnect your fuel line at different points starting at the fuel filter and turn on the pump. If you get fuel then proceed to the fitting at the fuel rail. At some point in your fuel sytem there is blockage. I would start at the fuel filter and either work forward or backwards depending on what you find at the filter. By the way, I just installed all TPIS products on my 88.
Keep up the investigative work.

Turn the AFPR adjustment screw CCW; in fact back it out all the way to see if you can get any fuel pressure reading after you turn the key On.

Also check the oil pressure sw at the rear of the intake base; if not connected there will be no power to the FP after the prime.

You can jumper a 12Vdc source to ALDL pin "G" to power the FP directly with the switch Off. This supplies power through the FP relay in the Off position and through the FP FUSE.

If none of these provide fuel pressure at the Schraeder valve, replace the AFPR and retest.

Did you pull the fuse for the fuel pump (or is it the fuel pump relay) in an effort to run the fuel out of the system before disassembling. Did you put it back in.

I've forgotton to put it back in b/4

Jumped the FP and it works fine. Removed the plenum and the regulator. While it was off I hit the FP and got fuel shooting from the hole. So I am getting fuel to the regulator but not passed it. Called MAD and ordered a new diaphram. Should be here on Friday. This is a real bummer. [IMG][/IMG]

Get the Holley AFPR. A fine piece with new diaphram, spring, etc.

Isn't the schrader valve after the regulator. If that's the case and fuel does shoot out of your schrader valve it sounds like it could be injector related.

The fuel came from the hole where the diaphram fits over in the regulator. I also pushed down on the small pin in the shrader valve and nothing came out. Still get no pressure on the guage. Nothing at all.

Looked on line for the Holly regulator with Summit. The one listed is for a 5.0 motor. Would this still work with my 5.7- 1988 vette. Do you have the Holly on your car, what year is yours.
