I have been experiencing engine sputtering and no power under light throttle, e.g. in overdrive or drive around town from (1,500 rpm's until 2,500)
Idle is also terrible. I do have an exhaust leak from a new header install. I am sending away for some new aluminum gaskets, instead of fiber. The dealer says I am getting too much fuel. They say I am getting fuel lope or fuel surge and that the injectors are staying open 2.1 milliseconds and should only be open 1.4 to 1.5 milliseconds. Is this a computer chip problem? Or when the exhaust leak is repaired should that take care of it.
Re: Help, More Problems! re: Fuel Injector Timing (dscottr)
It would be nice to know what your BLM's are reading. Just applying some "common sense" (I hope).....the O2 sensor is probably being fooled by the leak and thinking the air/ fuel ratio is lean therefore the ECM is fattening up the mixture. That accounts for the increase pulse width of the injectors.
Re: Help, More Problems! re: Fuel Injector Timing (drive it)
This just started after the header install. I talked to Fastchip and they think the computer is dumping in too much fuel because of the exhaust leak. I sent away for copper gaskets and Stage 8 header bolts. Hopefully, this will fix the problem.
