Default Ski It Down

Just wondering what size tires you have on your car. That might be why you have some of those amzing 50 mph slides. Not to burst your bubble or anything I think your new engine is BAD, but my 383 will light up my 315 pilots in 3rd so if you were running stock tires that might be why your sliding so much.

Kehrer923,

Its ski_dwn_it.

The tires that I have on the car are 275/40/17 Dunlop SP5000's nearly brand new. In comparison of the engine before with those tires they grabbed nearly as good as my old slicks. As a matter of fact, when I went from the sp5000s to my slicks I only picked up .1 tenth in the 1/4. So for what its worth the street tires were pretty impressive for grab, now they are a joke.

Clearly this engine is not the fastest thing this side of the mississippi, but it has a hell of a lot more power than my 350 setup. I am thoughly impressed with it and am 1/2 afraid to go past 1/2 throttle with it.

There was a whole lot of work that went into it, and a lot of frustration that came with last years season, this is like a breath of fresh air after working in the sewer for the last year. If I sound like I am braggin, that is not the intent, I am just happy and know there are several people out there that were pulling for me to come through this year with a great setup. I am just reporting the progress as it evolves.

Just out of curiousity, what kind of times does your 383 turn at the track?
