well, my BFGoodrich drag radials just arent up to the task of letting me launch without wheelspin anymore (especilly after the converter swap) and i need a stickier tire. i dont want to go with a full slick just yet, so i was looking at a set of E/T streets. the problem with this they dont make them in 17 inch sizes. so i would have to get a 15 inch tire and a new set of rear rims.
heres my question... are there any rims in Summit/Jegs that would bolt up to an 89 Vette that i could use with these tires? or maybe there is a rim from another GM car that i could just swap onto the Vette (should be cheaper getting these from a junkyard or something than buying a whole new set of wheels).
one more thing, what tire pressure do you guys run these things at? thanks in advance
Re: anyone using Mickey Thompson E/T Streets? (scorp508)
hmmm, after i posted this i looked in the drag racing section and saw a post on the new 17inch sizes... but... i would want them to fit on my existing 9.5" wheels, which these look like they wont (due to the 11.5" size). i may look into the 16 inch sizes, however. hopefully a 87' style rim will fit over my brakes
Re: anyone using Mickey Thompson E/T Streets? (tpivette)
If you look at the webpage the tread width is 10" and their acceptable rim width formula says "Tread Width plus or minus 1" so you can use anything from a 9" to 11" wide rim with them.
Re: anyone using Mickey Thompson E/T Streets? (silver & red CE)
Scorp,
Do they need tubes?
Can I drive 50 miles to the strip (all hwy)?
No they don't need them. You can get them, but you don't need them. Mine have been sitting in the barn sine October and have held their air pressure. Also there should be no problem driving 50 miles as long as you don't get stuck in the rain. A buddy of ours up here drove home an hour in the pouring rain in his Lingenfelter Twin Turbo Z06 with a set of ET Streets. I thought he was nuts, but he said he drove home 60mph the whole way.

Yep, 26x11.50-17LT ET Streets (Part# 3743) coming soon! Should be released
before mid February. There will be an update on the website regarding actual
release date around the end of January. Stay tuned! Take care.
This was sent to me a while ago, they are supposedly getting production up and running now.
