Open the consol lid and in the front (under the little piece of carpet in there) there are three screws. There is also one under the cup holder (or ash tray insert). If you remove those three, you "can" get the cover off. But it is much more cooperative to then remove the 5 screws that hold the console lid (the one covered with padded leather), then the consol cover comes off. To get it completely off, you'll have to remove the four screws that hold the shifter boot on and unhook the cigarette lighter. Sounds complex, but take about 5 minutes to get it apart.
