Default How to fix this intake problem?

Weekly I open the hood to check oil and sometimes I see the intake duct away from the opening in the air filter box! This means that unfiltered air can go in the throttle body / plenum / combustion chambers!!!
There’ a fix to avoid this situation?? My car is ‘90

Is the air filter box secured in the correct position? If it is, place a clamp on the loose end.

My '90 comes loose there too. I just keep reinstalling it and tightening it down. I think it's lasted for a while this time, but I haven't really checked it out. I did soak it in hot water then tried to stretch it once. If you can get it hot, then hang it with some weights... that might help.

Mine used to come loose on a regular basis. I finally removed the clamp on the air box, installed 3 short, self tapping screws (one on each side and the top) and reinstalled the clamp. There is a ridge on the throttle body that prevents that end from slipping. If you need to work on the front of the engine, just remove the air tube and box as a single unit. Hasn't moved since.
