1: What is the propper way to install roller rockers? I just did my cam swap. And im going for 1,6 rrs.
2: Is fully roller rockers going to make more HP then just roller tiped once? Or is fully roller "just" more gentel to the vavle train? The thing is I can get a set of 1,6 roller tips for free :) But I just whant to check this first.
It has always been my opinion, that the roller tipped rockers do not do much. Its the fulcrum that develops most of the friction and heat. Again, just another engineers opinion, maybe there is some testing to back me up, I have never looked.
The LS1 engines, when new, have aluminum rockers with roller fulcrums and sliding tips.
But to get back to my main question. Is 1,6 roller tip rockers going to make the same power that fully roller, but make more stress on the valve train?
thanks

check if they self aligning? check size stud?
I have the CompCams ProMagnum full rollers. I am very happy with them. I took off the valve cover and started the motor. They do not get hot and I think they are supposed to save 1 or 2 hp. Someone will correct me.
Think of it this way. The roller tipped rockers have increased friction as previously mentioned. Friction will create drag and heat. Drag and heat typically reduces performance. Whether the decrease in performance is noticable or not, I dont know. But I do know it doesnt help performance to have roller tipped rockers over the full rollers. If it doesnt help, there isnt too many directions to go from there. Just my $.02
