How hard is it to replace the door glass in a C4? Mine is a 95 and both windows have alot of up and down scratches, not bad but annoying. I would like to bring the car back to 100%.
I can get new glass for $125.00 each, and just was wondering about the complexity of the install. :banghead:
my 95 has verticle scratches on the windows. they are caused by grit getting into the felt pad that is attached to the weatherstipping on the door. Order these before you start the window replacement project. if you dont replace them, you new glass will get scrathed too. they cost $30 each side. I just called the chevy dealer & each door glass is $232! & used ones are usually scratched. sux. Replacing the glass i heard is time consuming & an entire day should be enough time to do it correctly.
Door glass from a glass guy is cheaper. I'd get them to do it. More like $250 for both installed. But get the new bumpers or you'll scratch them up fast. Cost 10$

:iagree:
What do you mean by bumpers? Is this the part that the window goes up and down through, or somthing that stabalizes the glass, inside the door?

Re: Door glass replacement. (Kizmo)
Just got my Bloomington Gold program in the mail. They will be having a class on how to do this. It costs $50 and they are supposed to cover how to remove, replace, and reinstall the door, window fuzzies, weatherstrip, motor, etc. The brocure is in the bedroom and since my wife is sleeping I can't get it for you right now. You can IM me so I can get you the info in the morning or try http://www.bloomingtongold.com

There are fuzzy brackets that stop the window from rattling in the door. They bolt to the door and guide the window up and down. The outside of them looks like the fuzz from the fuzzy side of velco. It wears out and the metal below causes the scratches. They are easily replaced when you take off the door panel. GM sells them cheaper I think but here's the link to Ecklers. They have them for $30  http://www.ecklers.com/product.asp?p...N0SM2EPTCQ5DJ1
