Need help, transmission question!
Hello everyone, the automatic transmission on my 1993 wit 88k miles. In drive, whiled parked, a loud whirring sound comes from the general area of the front of the transmission, directly under the shifter. It is higher pitched then the engine, but it worries me, it also is Idling slower and switching out of first iratically, I have had a similar problem but in 3-4 gear, and they replaced a "transmission gear switch" which was cheap and I hope this is the problem, what does everyone think??

Update : dropped the car off at the dealership. They seem pretty sure its an internal transmission problem such as a bearing or something that will lead to the necessary rebuild or replacement of transmission. I am going to look for more advice from another shop, but how much should I pay for a remanufactured tranny? What about a factory transmission? Thanks in advance

Found some websites offering remanufactured 700r4's http://www.700r4.com seems to be pretty good, anyone experience any of these sites? BUMP
