Default I need ideas. Rebuild time!

What do you think of AFR Airflow Research Heads($1400)? Is there better heads? What should I use? I also need some good headers, but i'm trying to save $, Should i look for used headers? I'm going with a 383, forged pistons, hydrolic rollers and race series bearings. I do still have the stock intake which has custom fuel rails, larger injectors, it been ported and has larger runners. Do i need to replace it now or can i get by with it for a while? Any pointers?

Best advise is in the engine section under general topics. I'd go 396 instead of 383. Might as well while you're at it. Have the heads and intake ported and polished together. Use your own hardware on the heads instead of the AFR stuff. Probably a set of 195CC LT4 would do. TPIS 1 3/4" longtubes. There's alot more to it though. Check also some of the performance sites like http://www.dougrippie.com and http://www.moreperformanceinc.com to see what they do to their setups. http://www.nu-tekmotorsports.com/new_page_1.htm
