I saw a post a few weeks ago about cutting the ground to the headlights and grounding it to the frame near the front of the car. This cures the problem with the headlights "glowing" when you just have the fog-lights and parking lights on after you have upgraded to the 50 watt bulbs. Apparently the fog lights are grounded through the high-beam filament. When the foglights are on, the high-beam filament will glow.
I'm an electrical moron, so I can't be trusted to work from a description of what to do. I need a picture of this mod, or I probably won't get it done correctly.
Can anybody help me out? I would really like to do this.
this sounds odd... "grounded through the filament," to me, sounds like they're wired in series (which can't be). i'm interested to see if anyone can clarify.

No there is some truth to it.. Basically the 89-older vettes have the Foglights wired in series to the High beams.. so 12v from the switch goes to each foglight. The ground side goes through the Highbeam and then to ground. The high beam switch is wired to the point between the foglight and High Beam. when the High beams are turned on, the foglights will go out since there is 12v on each side of the lamps and then the high beams turn on.
I basically cut the wires that would go to the High Beam near the socket and ran them to ground directly.
