Default Exhaust Leak

I did a search on this topic and came up with a whole bunch of posts, but most of them were either asking how to detect a leak or the leak was between the headers and the manifold. Anyways, here is my simple question. What's the best way to plug an exhaust leak between to fitting parts that are not welded but attached with u-clams? I would like not to weld them if I don't have to. Thanks.

Maybe band clamps would give a better seal than U clamps though I had a custom exhaust shop install my system and the entire cat-back & mufflers is welded.

i'm not sure if a shop will do the weld job since there is not cat on it though.

:iagree: Band clamps would work good. I bet you can cut both pipes so one doesn't slip into the other and use this type of clamp.
