Non-Corvette question - torque converter
My wife drives a '99 Suburban with 56K miles. Recently (yesterday), the motor revs, but there is no power to the wheels. I drove it, and found that at speed, 40 mph or so, it slips. Thankfully, she is still under warranty, but before I go to the dealer I want to know if my suspicion is correct. I think it's the torque converter, but it could be belts. With the warranty, I want the whole thing done - torque converter to tranny. No power, lotta noise at start off. It's out of curiosity that I want to know. Thank goodness for warranties.

try this
drive, keep your foot on the gas and tap the brakes. the rpms will jump up a few 100 rpm when the TC unlocks. if it doesn't jump up, its unlocked to begin with or just not unlocking
