Check out this link, it's a step by step on how to remove the drip tabs. Basically, you just score them at the base with a dremel, then snap them off with a pair of pliers. Use heavy duty cutoff wheels on your dremel and a pair of safety glasses.........one of the pics shows why you want to wear the glasses  http://briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/cabobo...r+Mods&.view=l
I'll modify the towers if I have to after I test fit the valve covers. Good luck
I ground the drip tabs off completely but that may not be necessary; try to leave a little bit of each tab.
For the bolt towers, I estimated how high the RRs would rise on them and ground off a little from each side of each tower till the covers fit with no interference.
Some guys have to pinch the lower edges of the oil shields to avoid hitting the RRs; I used a pair of plyers to squeeze them in a little too.
My engine was in the car and it was very difficult to get the valve covers installed over the RRs so I took one additional precaution. Before firing up the engine I installed the valve covers, pulled the fuel injector fuses & disconnected the distributor; then I cranked the engine to be sure the RRs weren't hitting anything inside the valve covers.
