Im going to have my car tuned by a firm that use a dyno to tune the car. The probleme is that I have to drive 80km to the company on the highway. I dont dare doing that with my stock chip, im dont think my car can hold a idle with that.. ANy tips?
Thanks
I think you will be running rich at lower RPMs and lean at higher revs.
If you have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, you could actually reduce pressure somewhat to make less adjustment from your ECM necessary--but I wouldn't lower the pressure and rev above 3000 RPM. That would probably get you to the tuner safely. Just maek sure to set it back to normal once it is done.
If you have any way of scanning the computer, I would watch the BLM counts and spark knock...although the added richness might cool down the chambers a fair amount. You just don't want too be excessively.
You'll have a noticable idle...but you can keep the revs up a little bit since you have a 'stir for yourself' gearbox.
If it was my car, that's how I'd do it...but I am on my third engine ;) Good luck, -85Y
