Basically I'm wondering exactly how to remove the left and right pieces of the front spoiler. The center piece was cake. After opening the hood, it looks like there's some weird fasteners with three flattened pieces of metal holding it into place. How do you remove these?
Flyboy, the center piece of your spoiler is part of your cooling system it helps cool-off the radiator while driving. You`ll overheat without it....Just my 2 cents

Yeah I'm just replacing the spoiler with a new one, trying to figure how to remove those fasteners under the hood. :)
Not sure what you are looking at under the hood, but mine had bolts going up from the bottom on the back side of the spoiler. Mine just had nuts up thru a metal reinforcement.
I did mine last year on the 86. Bolts ran up from the bottom into nuts with attached washers. Passenger side was a piece of cake. Driver's side was a PITA. I had to pull the AIR cannister to get a wrench on the nuts. I replaced the fasteners at the same time. If I remember right they were like $20.00 from Mid America.
