The secret is to use RTV and make sure you clean the surface of the pan and the overdrive off with brake cleaner first. You need to make sure they are both chemically clean of all deposits before applying the RTV. Apply the decent bead of RTV to the pan and let it sit for just a couple of minutes. Then mount it on the transmission and let it sit there for oh I dunno an hour before you will it with anything.

Mine is a pain too. I think turning the flipping the vette over will solve the problem.
The RTV won't seal well if its exposed to lube before it dries. Don't use the gasket either. All it does is give you two surfaces that it can leak from.
Have you checked to make sure its not actually leaking from the tranny cooler lines or the switch?
Definately out of the pan. I can see where it is coming through the RTV. I'm gonna take it off one more time and this time I'm gonna let it sit for a day before I fill it to assure the RTV has set.
If I still have a leak, I guess I'll just buy a case of tranny fluid to hold me over until I can afford a 6-speed conv.
