Fire extinguisher mounting location
1985 Corvette Coupe. Any suggestions on a safe location to mount a fire extinguisher. I want to have it handy but secured, so that it doesn't flop around if I stop hard. I don't want to drill through the transmission housing or gas tank from inside of the car, and find out later when I see liquid on the ground. I'd also prefer not to have it mounted on the windshield trim like a young "Ricky Racer". Right now, I have it wedged behind the driver's seat, but that can be a problem if you decide to adjust the seat. Now, with all of those conditions, any suggestions? And don't suggest that I leave the fire extinguisher in the garage. :lol: :lol: :lol:

I used R-D Racing's mount, goes in front of the drivers seat. Handy, but it has never been in the way. http://www.r-dracing.com/miscproducts.htm

After I posted the question, I went to the archives and found a post that covered my installation question. I also went to RD racing and checked out their products. Thanks for the info. :cheers:

I'm going to install my on my harness bar. If I didn't have this I would mount it in front of the driver's seat. Someone here put it there with a strip of velcro that was something like 2" x 10" and it looked good too. The total cost was maybe $2.
