Going to do full spring service to my car. List goes like this:
-motor oil change + new oil filter
-automatic tranny oil change + new gasket
-chassis oil change
-brake fluid change
-new AC Delco spark plugs
-new AC Delco spark plug wires
-new distributor cap and rotor
-new fuel filter
-new oxygen sensor
-throttle body cleaning + new gasket
-new K&N air filter + going to cut the air lid
-power steering fluid change
-throttle body air foil (I know, wasted my money...)
-new 275/40/17 tyres (alrd bought and waiting for install)
After these I'm planning to install Flowmaster Force II cat-back on my car. What do you think, should it run like a lightning after these :D
> -chassis oil change
You mean grease balljoints, U-joints etc? There is no oil in there.
Here is couple of more things you should take a look (not in any particular order):
1. inspect or change serpentine belt
2. change or top up rear end oil
3. check brake disks and pads
4. check radiator for dirt, clean if needed to avoid overheating
5. change cooling fluid
6. check wheel bearings, tie rods and ball joints for freeplay
7. align your wheels after you install them new tires, wrong angles could destroy them in no time (my wheel angles were totally wrong when I bought my car)
don't forget to replace trans' filter too.
Can someone advise on that overdrive unit? Any service to it?
Sounds like your car will be very happy with it's owner and will give lots of fun miles.
Might be a good idea to set the Throttle Position Sensor and adjust the Idle Air Controller. A throttle body bypass might be a good idea also. Do a search there's a ton of info on setting TPS, IAC and the TB bypass.
You're gonna learn a lot in a very short period of time.
Good Luck

Re: Is this complete tune up or what? (jutammel)
While replacing the cap and rotor check the coil. If you have an in-the-cap one and you never replaced it then replace it. I replaced mine when I did my tune up in July and it helped a lot!
