There is alot of forum members using AFR heads. They are great performers out of the box. In fact I am currently finishing a 383 buildup that includes AFR 195's.
I would not add the heads unless you do more for the engine. They are expensive and without a corresponding intake flow and cam they will not perform to maximum. If you are willing to change heads - go a little further and change cam and intake and make a performance difference.
i thought the center int bolt holes were different on the 88-91? ARE THESE THE ALUM HEADS?
What would i need to do to put these on the 85? And where do you recommend buying them? I know autozone sells them
thanks, I've called all my local parts stores to see if i can buy stock replacements....and they don't have them.
Can someone tell me what the part #'s on these would be and then i can start shopping, or if someone has a low mileage set for sale please e-mail me at hardinm@sjrmc.com
These are Aluminum heads that came from the factory on 88-91 Corvettes. You can find them in a junkyard, or buy them off ebay. All you would probably need is new valvecovers for the centerbolt heads.
