Are we talking about an 89 Vette? If so, I don't think you have an Opti-spark. If it's for a 92 to 96 LT-1/4, then I'd say to look inside the opti and it will be apparent by dirt, moisture and rust that it needs replacing and venting.

I guess I should have said this is of MY93, MY89 is so much more simple !! It is rusty but dry, I would like to check the module itself if possible :flag :flag :flag I'm with you guys I am a Brit Canadian. :cheers:

as far as I know, there are no direct tests...
if you get a code 16, you have a dying opti.
how many miles??? thats the bigger factor. and whether it got soaked.
