I just installed my new clutch and I was hooking up the linkages on the tranny when I pressed on the clutch. It made a popping noise as I depressed it and then once or twice it made a twang like a spring having the tension suddenly let off. It didn't do this before, I found this post http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=249269
and I don't know what the end result of that was, but being that mine is more specifically having that twang sound I am afraid it has to do with the flywheel, any response is great. I just want to have the thing running again, UHH!!!
OK Here's the result of my clutch rebuild corresponding the the post your referring to..............in my case it was the pivit ball, it had a grouve worn in it and the cluch arm would ride up on the grouve and then slip off causing the twang sound.......replaced the pivit ball and all is well :chevy
