I was looking at some graphs and noticed that the superram and miniram
are almost the same in torque and horsepower up to 5500 rpms with slight
torque incresse with the superram. My question is would the zz-9 cam work the same with both intakes?
I can tell you that the most disappointing day with my car was on the dyno at Carlisle. Carlisle 2001, with stock TPI and a mild cam (based on HP#'s, no info from previous owner) I made 230 RWHP. I put on a Mini-Ram, and went back to the dyno Carlisle 2002, made 234 RWHP :U Yeah that's how I felt. Where's my "95 HP at blah blah blah" :cuss
I had a 52mm TB and stock exhaust manifolds (likely the culprit for my 4 HP gain). Since putting on TPIS LT headers I noticed a serious improvement. Something I didn't notice from the MR itself. I believe The MR requires some serious additional mods to truly shine.
That being said, your best choice depends on your goal. It is basic engine theory that longer intake runners will improve torque but limit top end HP given a specific runner diameter. A shorter runner will make less torque and raise the top end HP potential.
What do you want, and how much of it do you want? Check Scorp's example above, torque is what pushes you down the track quickly, HP makes the car fast.
Geez, all that and no answer to the question your asking. Oh well maybe somebody will find something useful here
Can you give me more information on your friends car. Im running the
same set up with edelbrock performer heads but with stock headers. What
year is his car,how did he set in his cam and who programed his chip?

He's running d-port heads he ported himself with 2.00/1.56 valves. I think he has a 2600 RPM stall convertor. The cam is in straight up and his chip is just a generic TPIS level 4 chip. He has never fine tuned it. Its a '91 coupe.
