I own a '95 LT1 which that has developed a coolant leak that I am unable to locate. All the hoses are good, as well as the radiator. I have replace the radiator cap as well without sucess. It does appear to be coming from the water pump either as far as I can tell. In addtion, coolant is flowing into the fill tank (near the winshield) from the bottom hose, not the one from the overflow tank. Anyone got any ideas?
I did have the coolant system flushed last Sept. and it went inot storage late October. At that time there wasn't any leak. Looking under the car, the leak is a steady steam coming off the metal support frame right under the engine. Had a buddy take a look at it who is good with cars (though he likes dodge) and there is just not enough room to look around. We jacked the vette up to get a view from underneth, but no luck.
Thanks, thought it may have been the water pump, but we could find anything from the front side. Cant get a good look at the back end. I'll have to get dirty next weekend and take a look. Got pretty cold this weekend. Had snow on the ground this morning. I thought winter was over here in Michigan.
My 90 convertible was doing the same thing last year. It turned ou to be the water pump. It didn't leak all of the time, a pressure check showed everything ok. It usually leaked after the car was shut off and was cooling down.
