Does anyone have any experience, whether it's good, bad or neutral regarding the performance advantage when installing a Performance Throttle Calibrator on an 85 Vette.
I got one free from my friend who never installed it to his own car, so I installed it to mine. Only thing I noticed was increase in fuel consumption so I took it off ;)
The manual says the thingie will give maximum 5v (i think) at WOT to the ECM even if the original TPS is worn (or something) and can't deliver it. Do not know if this is important or not in real life.
your computer recognizes anything over 67% throttle as WOT anyway. All that gizmo does is make it recognize 50% or so as WOT, so it throws it into open loop and goes into fuel enrichment mode.
The rest of the time the computer thinks your throttle is open more than usual so you run rich. Worthless.
