CAGS & turn signal circuit shorted???
So I've been having an issue with my turn signals for a little while now. The turn signal/backup fuse blows intermittently only while driving. I'm trying to track down the short. I'm at the point now where I've hooked up a test light in place of the fuse so that when I turn the turn signal switch it either direction, the test light turns on. It also turns on when I have the car in reverse (turn signal/backup lights share the same fuse in '92). What's really interesting is that I've noticed that the test light also comes on when the CAGS (one to 4) light on the DIC comes on indicating it's time to shift from 1st to 4th. I actually "installed" the CAGS eliminator kit about a year ago but the light on the dash still comes on. This seems strange to me that there would be power on the turn/backup circuit. Shouldn't the 2nd/3rd blockout relay be a completely different circuit than the turn/backup??? Would this possibly cause the fuse to blow? :confused:
