ERRR........squeeling noise when braking 1993 lt1 ruby
I could swear my rear indicators on the pads are creating that "whistling" effect but it doesn't do it everytime. I had to jack the car yesterday and heard a thud almost like a snap but found nothing visibly wrong. drove the car no shakes shimmies. When i apply the ebrake I can hear it and regular breaking it comes up. Only seems to do it when the brakes are warming up but its random......but it doesn't seem like it does it all the time. I recently replaced the front passenger e clip for the brake pad pin holder, I did notice that there was excess slack left to right in the pin. I was wondering if the pin was vibrating the ering but it still seems like it comes from the back not the front. I have done no work in the rear except to remove the drivers rear tire to verify a clearance issue for a screw I was drilling and removed (into fiberglass only 1/4 inch). Any ideas what I could be missing? I tested the wheel bearing while wheel was off and there is no play in the bearings what so ever......it just started after the jacking incident.

Pull the pads and check to see if they are about worn out. The pads have a piece of metal on them that contacts the disk when the pad wears down . It squeels to let you know that the pad needs replacing.

I'm going to check it out tomorrow when the weather breaks......it doesn't sound like brake warning indicators, the pitch seems different.......almost like a metal j clip rattling around without anything attached to it. I almost thought it could have been a messed up actuator on one of the FX3 actuators.......like the gear but it only happens when the ebrake is applied or regular brakes......so I tend to agree the back breaks may suspect. I hope its something real simple
