My 94 auto constantly goes in and out of lock-up when I'm cruising at about 47-63mph. I changed the TCC solonoid back in Jan 03 and that helped, now the problem is back. Can anyone help me? Thanks.
Re: Torque Convertor Lock-up...Need Help (Lone Ranger)
Fluid level is fine. This is an intermittent problem that is driving me nuts and making the car very un-enjoyable. I have been fighting this problem since I bought it last year. The new TCC solonoid worked for a while and now the problem is slowly coming back.
Re: Torque Convertor Lock-up...Need Help (Joeyvette)
Does it makes a difference if the tranny is cold or hot? That is, will it lock up initially and then as the trans gets up to operating temp it then won't lockup anymore, or locks and unlocks intermittently once the tranny is hot? If so, might be symptom of the hydraulic pump for the torque converter beginning to flake out on you. My 95 started refusing to lock up the tc at any speed in 4th gear OD once the trans got up to operating temp and the culprit ended up being the pump and pump valve assembly. This happened with mine at about 32,000 miles.
Re: Torque Convertor Lock-up...Need Help (Lone Ranger)
Just a thought, we once had an Oldsmobile that wouldn't lock up the converter until a certain engine operating temperature had been reached. If you have a low temp thermostat you might check that. :chevy :chevy
Man...that could be a hundred thousand things......I would also check if the PCm has any codes stored....I had TC clutch issues once because of the TPS.....see if there's a reflash available from the Chevy dealer and let him run a TCC routine with the tech II
