I need some new rear tires that grip better than the GoodYear Eagle GSC's I have there now. I have no traction now after the mods, which is bad.. I can get these tires for around $120 a piece. They any good?
Judging by the info I can find on the website, I would say they aren't exactly high performance tires. They don't even list a treadwear, and they give a 30,000 mile warranty (60,000 mile on the same tire if its a 60+ series). They are listed as "All Season" tires. Too bad the Azenas don't come in real car sizes :)
Those definately look cool and sound pretty good. I'd search the web for reviews though. Make sure they perform like the numbers say, the life/noise levels are good, etc. Good luck.
i have used those tires and only those tires on my last 3 cars..
try them , you'll never use anything else.
they bite a helluva lot better than goodyears and bf goodrich, even have good traction on wet roads. and they are nearly perfectly balanced .
i have a good shop for my balancing needs. he spins them at 4 points 90 degrees apart and goes with the best balance.. i actually have 2 wheels with no weights and they're smooth as glass up to 135mph.
oh , noise is non existent. and they're tough. i spun my car around and hit a curb , taxi ran the stop sign,.. broke the wheel into 3 pieces.. the tire didnt go flat..
as i said. im a firm believer in these tires. they're the only tires i'll buy.
I haven't used Falkens but over the years I realize that a lot of searching has to be done to find a good tire at a good price. Usually, the cheaper tires don't grip, period.
The absolute WORST tires I have ever owned are Yokohama's and Sumatomos. Stay away from those. I actually thought my Comp T/A's were pretty good.
My next tires are going to be those Autocross Kumhos from the Tire Rack. 315/35/17ZR's for about $160 ea.
Thanks for all the feedback everyone..
I saw those AVS ES1000's on backorder too.. Those tires look pretty mean.
I'll see hwo things turn out, and maybe just bite the bullet and get a set of Firehawk SZ50's.. At $177 a tire, it is more expensive, but I heard nothing but good things about them, and actually have them as 16" on the rear now and they grip like a ****... :D
