I have a spec aluminum singlemass flywheel, and I'm tired of all the noise this thing makes. But I don't wan't to spend 800+ dollars on a GM one. Is there any thing I can do to quiet this thing down. Thanks :D
I'm sure going with a steel single flywheel and sprung hub would help keep the noise down. What on earth made you go with an Aluminum single mass flywheel? Did some one convince you the noise would not be that bad?
I gave up and going back to stock. Sprung disk didn't help much. Jeff Koop sells for about $687. They also come up on the forum and ebay for $400-500 occasionally. Will have a Fidanza flywheel and clutch setup for sale soon.
The single mass steel is a Camaro flywheel shaved down aprox .090. Now keep in mind you will still have the rattle noise but it may not as bad. But I can tell you first hand, for me any single flywheel setup sounds bad period. I don't think it's worth it unless the car is mostly used for the track. Some have found that the heavier dual flywheel helps them launch much smoother at a lower rpm from the line.
