Anybody ever replace the Torx bolt at the bottom of the A/C compressor. The one with the flat to slip passed the notch in the AC pulley. Where did you get it? My parts book shows 14084314, but the dealers I've contacted can't help.
When I checked I was told the bolt is no longer available. I just reused mine but could not get it real tight as the torx was a bit stripped. I used locktight when I installed it.
CentralCoaster, I'm not sure if a standard hex head bolt will not interfere with the clutch or pulley. I will give it a try though. I thought I'd ask though as some folks have eliminated their A/C and may have the bolts around.

Re: 85-85 A/C Compressor Bolt (Ray Quayle)
Maybe I'm mistaken...I thought you were referring to the lower bolt that goes into the front side of the ac casing and threads into the cylinder head(?). perhaps my 85 is different from yours.
You can get an allen head bolt that will work the same as the original torx head bolt. That is what I had to do.
If you try to use a normal hex head bolt, there is really not enough room to get a socket on the head of the bolt, unless you have a really thin-walled socket.
