Anybody change the coolant temperature sensor harness?
I'm letting the dealerhsip handle it since I broke down on the way to work and I was very close to the dealership when it happened. The labor is what's killing me!!! I just got off the phone with the parts department of another dealership. The harness is $19!!!! I'm being charges $267 for parts and labor. There was a $76 charge to diagnose which is included in the cost of the repair. I was told by the parts guy that the harness is the connector with two pigtails that apparently get spliced into the existing wiring. If that's so, how much wrench time does splicing take!!! Am I missing something. Maybe I'm being charged to hook up a scanner to the computer. ah..whatever...hope it corrects this problem permanently.

It never hurts to question the labor charges accrued by the dealer. In fact, it is free, and it may result in a reduction of your bill. If you are not satisfied with the answer provided by the service writer, ask to speak with the service manager for an explanation. If your inquiry is conducted in a polite manner, good things might happen. Good luck!

IMHO your getting screwed. I'd buy the harness, cut it off the new one apply to the old harness and be done.........the rest can used for vasolene, they are stroking you hard. Harness changing is done by manual per hour, most times fairly easy to do. Dealerships charge crazy labor rates.......$79 to hook up to machine........please. That machine is bought and paid for, but I guess they have to stay in business some way..........sad :leaving:
