91 Internals??? Forged?

Someone told me that the internals of the 91 are Forged pistons, with really nice rods that have the strong bolt setup.

Is this true?

The only regular production C4 that I know of that had forged internals is the '85 model, it had forged pistons.

:iagree: He is right.. '91's are Cast jsut like every 86+ vette..

I think 90-91's went to hypereutetic pistons. (I will check later today)

90-91 have flat top pistons and a higher compression, but I don't know their composition

I know that the 92 and later were Hyper pistons, its likely that the latest L98s were also.

From what I can find the 90-91 are cast. Sorry, if I got anyone's hope up about having better piston's.

Im still in the dark about the real compression ratio on the 91 L98..... I was under the impression it was lik 9.25:1 like the others, but now Im being told its 10.25??????? I dont know, can anybody shed light on this topic

Hell, the hypers aint that much better. :lol:

Later L98s had minor piston changes (cc's) that increased compression slightly, its definitely not 9.25, at least not functionally because ive seen some register detonation on medium gas and it shouldnt with only 9-9.5:1.
