I just finished the install of an MSD6AL on my '94. I used the proper MSD 8876 Harness adapter. I hooked the battery back up and she cranked great. Uh-oh. "Service ASR" light is on. I drove it, and sure enough the traction control is not working at all. I can still hit the ASR off button and the "ASR Off" light comes on.
Any ideas????? :(
I prefer to keep the ASR feature as the roads are constantly wet down here.
I have checked all of the obvious things. Everything is still plugged in tight. I even reset the computer again and it came right back on about a second after I cranked the car.
Did you bypass the factory tach filtter? Mine did the same thing when I installed the MSD digital 6, also when I would try to rev it past 3k rpm's the tach would just fall back to 0 which caused numerous other lights to trip. I bypassed the tach filter and all is well.

Cool! Where is the tach filter and how do you bypass it? :seeya
Pretend that your quick MSD harness isn't there and look at the two plugs that originally went to your coil. One of the wires should be white, follow them back along the wiring harness until you see that white wire go into a little black square box. That's the tach filter.
I just cut the wires on either side of it (leaving enough room to reconnect if needed) and spliced the wires around the box. The box is taped into the harness pretty good so I just left it there. In case you should ever need it you should be able to put it back.
:smash: I'm not doing so well tonight, the little square box is BLACK, not white as I originally posted.
