Re: when eliminating th1985 Cold Start which temp sensor do you remove? (ld85)
On my '87 I removed the injector and plugged the port.I just left the plug attached to the loom hidden under the plenum in case I need to reuse it.
My understanding is the ECM fires the cold start injector if the engine is cold enough based on the temp it sees from the temp sensor at the front of the motor. This sensor is used by the ECM to contorl all the other heat related functions so one would assume it has to stay.
Re: when eliminating th1985 Cold Start which temp sensor do you remove? (ld85)
The cold start injector is not controlled by the ECM. It is controlled directly by a temperature switch in the front intake manifold. The plug looks like an injector plug. Disconnect it and wrap it with tape and forget about it. If you remove the cold start injector from the fuel rail you will need a plug which can be bought here: www.tunedport.com
Re: when eliminating th1985 Cold Start which temp sensor do you remove? (ld85)
The plug is to block the opening where the cold start fuel line enters the stock fuel rail. Since you are using the Tpis miniram fuel rails, you don't need this. If you were using a Superram, you would need the plug becuase the stock fuel rails are reused.
Re: when eliminating th1985 Cold Start which temp sensor do you remove? (ld85)
The plug is to plug up the back of the stock fuel rail and the cold start injector hole in the runners. Since you went the way of a MR and use their fuel rails, I dont suspect you will need the plug kit.
