Hand Shifter removal-boot replacement
Guys, I posted this in the general info and saw it getting passed overso I cut and pasted it here.
I'm Restoring the leather boot/cover on the shifting rod.
How the heck do you get the hand shifter off the shifter shaft?
Tried pressing the buton and cant find a release.

Ok, I will assume it's an automatic.
1st, pry out the button on top. then you will find a snap ring holding the shift **** in place. Remove the snap ring and pull the **** off, then proceed with the rest of the shifter console plate removal.
