I purchased a set of Hooker shorties 2061. I didnt realize these were non-ceramic model. What are the major drawbacks if any with installing these over the more expensive ceramic style? Thanks!

Re: 1996 Headers question... (eamador11)
Non-coated headers will start to discolor within a few minutes. Then they start to rust very soon too, especially on a street driven car. For the extra $200 or so the coated headers are WAY worth. If you have not already installed your non-coated headers, you can ship them to Jet-Hot or Airborne coatings and they'll coat them for approximately $200 (+or-).
Quick, Quick, send them to Jett Hot and have that Sterling coating put on. It looks great and reduces the heat. Can you send your headers back? Jett Hot sells Hooker Shorties with their Sterling coating on them for a good price.
One thing to look at before you start to install them, site down the flanges to make sure they are lined up, if not, you'll have an impossible time putting them on your heads. They had a bunch go through that were not true where they bolt to the heads. Once installed, they look great and you'll be able to get at your plugs better.
One more thing, I used S/S socket head bolts to bolt to the head(1") It is tight around the tubes, 6 or 12 point heads are very tight sometimes only an open end wrench works. The socket head bolts allow easy torquing.
