Radio install problems. Electrical geniuses needed
3 years ago I yanked the Bose and put in a Pioneer CD. Everything was rewired at the time. Stereo crapped out last week, so I bought another Pioneer(4 year warranty this time). All the leads are the same color as on the previous unit, so I just cut the wires at the back of the old unit and spliced in the new harness. The new stereo won't turn on, and I've lost the door/headlight chime. The chime got extremely weak before it finally just disappeared. You only need 3 wires to get the stereo on. Red for switched ignition, orange for constant 12V, and black for ground. These 3 are hooked up correctly. I checked the fuse for the radio and it's fine. I'm assuming there's a connection between the radio not working and the chime quittting. But what is it? Thanks

No, I don't have access to a voltmeter right now. The thing that gets me is the old radio had power. 10 minutes later, after splicing in the new harness, no power.

And we have a winner!!!!!!! The clk/ctsy fuse was blown. Now I have chimes AND a radio! While I was in there I noticed two different single wire connectors that weren't hooked up to anything. At first I thought they were supposed to be hooked together, but they don't fit. I can now add these to my list of connecters that are disconnected and I don't know what they do. Oh well.
