I just replaced stock wires and ac delco plugs ( needed changing) to 8 mm Taylor Spiro Pro wires and NGK TR6's gapped at 0.038 and I noticed a MPG increase.
Setting cruise at 125 kmh ( 75 mph) on a 100 km trip each way, I usually noticed 26-28 mpg.
Now, I just did the same trip and the readout said 33 mpg.
Is it normal to notice such an increase with plugs and wires?
Re: MPG Increase with plugs and wires (black_89_vette)
:yesnod: Depends on how old and used up they are. Changing out those items if they were old, will allow the engine to use the fuel more efficiently and result in better fuel economy. Weather conditions would play a part also.
