About 2 gallons. As far as the type, well that is another debate and can depend on your year. Sometime in the early 90's the factory started using the orange stuff...

Dex-Cool (the orange stuff) was factory filled on the 1996 Vettes ONLY. Stick with the green stuff for any other year Vette. :chevy

:) I know i need to use orange, and you can't mix etc.. etc... My question is should I use Prestone ORANGE or GM AC/DELCO Brand of coolant? The GM Dex-cool is 18 bucks a gallon here in Germany and the Prestone Dex-cool is 8 bucks. I was going to use the Prestone orange but wanted to check here first.

If the Prestone says it is equivalent to Dexcool then I would use the Prestone. I use Havoline since it says it is equivalent and costs $6 at Walmart.

I use Havoline too. If it meets the GM spec, it should say so right on the label.

I used the orange Havoline, they have to certify it's equivalent. No problems here.Saved many $$$$$$$.
